Sunday-hmmmm let's see.... well I planned on waking up before work and getting a new training toy
(update on new toy soon to follow, just as soon as I get it) instead I was woken up by 2 bites and searing hot pain surging through my right arm, the back of and armpit.
SOMETHING BIT ME!!! GRRRR!
Never figured out what it was but it certainly disrupted my sleeping .
So I skipped the before work trip. Also gave a co-worker a ride to work so no ride either.
AFTER WORK- Ran downtown for 23minutes minutes then changed into my riding junk and hopped on the bike for 57 minutes,rode to Reid park, turned a few laps and rode home.

Saturday-rode to work , on the way, got a flat...so I got off and proceeded to run from mountain and speedway all the way to fort Lowell and Campbell which wouldn't be so bad except that I had heavy cargo shorts a cotton T-shirt and baseball hat on along with a backpack and I had to push the bike. I was only 5 minutes late. I ran as fast as I could.
Took the bike to a shop across from my work and got the tube changed while on lunch.
Rode home just fine.

Cha Cha Cha
Friday-P,Loo and I went up to the Lemmmon. I ran Babad du uat trail in- 1hour 1min.
Then we cruised around the mountain a while and rock hopped @ windy point.
Later......

Then I set out on the long loop around campus, I put in 2 laps around the green as well for a total run time of 1hour 2 min 53 seconds.

I burned away
Tuesday-road to work/ on the way home I rode right by the flag pole and university.
Tonight was the community bike ride. I hadn't done one since winter so I decided to join in.
We cruised around for another hour or so. P joined us @ the end of the ride.

saturday-drove out to Patagonia and rode up Hershaw til I hit the AZ trail.
Hike and biked the az trail for a while.

Did a full loop staying as far around the park as possible then took 4th back.

escaped unscathed
Met up with my buddy T this morning and we headed out toward Tortollita preserve.
Directions-take Speedway west west west under freeway and keep going till you hit silver bell and head north( make a right) stay on silver bell-make a left on el camino del cerro, keep going turn onto north Tortollita road and follow it til it dead ends, park at or near gate.
THIS IS A SERIES OF INTERCONNECTING MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS.
Yes you can run them but watch out this is a fast set of trails on a bike.
NO MAPS OR TRAIL SIGNAGE.
Spaghetti string trails-lots of them-they all collapse into each other.
We meandered around for 2 hours and found where the trails merge into the other preserve further north west-ish (sweet water preserve)
Some memorable moments, a spur trail that heads further west and heads up some switch backs and gets a little techy/uphill/rocky, a pretty good little climb along a small ridge.
The area itself is mildly confusing, its built in such a way as to maximize the acreage and the trails collapse into each other.Basically pick a land mark on the horizon and try and stay oriented to it.

So I've taken a complete break since red mountain.
I'm throwing a monkey wrench into my training....on purpose.
Mixing things up.The next month will be funny. Funny as in slightly testing my patience....haha I'm taking june as a recovery month of sorts and can tell all ready I'm really going to have to fight with myself over this.
First run in the new shoes...new balance 767's(also ordered nb 1060's and 902's)
I've decided to switch back to the original shoes I started running in, new balance.
I think my ASICS were jamming my feet up.
So I ran tonight at a decent clip for 15 minutes 24 seconds 76 .
I also entered 2 races( the checks are in the mail).
I'm official running The 12 hours of Hotter then Hell ,race in Cameron park.
It's a 1.25 mile loop run for 12 hours.
It's on my 31'st birthday!
Normally I would never do something so damn boring. I've already got my plane res and will probly crash at my dads house he lives like 20 minutes away from the run.
I'm doing it as a training run of sorts for the other run I've signed up for....
I've entered the Javalina Jundred!!!!!
I still plan on doing the tahoe triple in september.
So I have races in August, September and November.
