now I've done it!
Well I just registered for the saguaro Lake 2000meter(1.2 mile) open water swim on may 2nd.
Mom and I are going to cruise down @ 6am and I'm sleeping in the back of the truck seeing as I work til 1 am the night before!!! Oh yeah!
My back is still giving me issues.
I'm just trying to take it easy.
So I went for a swim
no warm up-
2200 yards39'27"83-If I' m lucky I should be able to swim about the same time in the lake on saturday. cool down 25yards x 2 underwater.
I'll be swimming in the non-wetsuit category(water temp 65 degrees :))
Hopefully they will still let me swim in my speed skin suit.

Well my back is still bugging. I planned on just going home after work.
My buddy tom suggested we go on a hike...uh how bout a trail run...
We ended up sorta running Babat Duat.
Ran all the downhills. 50minutees out 30 minutes back.

yet another
Splash and Dash #2
Well after 3 hours of sleep and working from 5am-1130am I sped home and got ready to go to tempe.
So I snuck a 2hr nap on the drive down.
We stopped @ Ikea and killed some time.
The race went well My back hurts bad!
The swim felt longer this time and the third swim buoy seemed placed much further this time. The swim felt better in general.
The transition time was smokin.
The run was good but my back was way off.
Almost 30 seconds faster this time total.
My splits were a little more accurate this time as well,(mom did em and shes used to doin em).

wise choice?
Well I have a splash and dash on thursday.
I still needed to get in my long run but was hesitant with only one recovery day between the splash and dash.....
Long run up pantano south to irvington east to houghton north to escalante east to old spanish trail past the park to the light that takes me back to houghton then to golflinks to pantano and home.

big day easy workout
I was off work today.
Zane rolled over for the first time.
Then he kept trying to roll and roll.
Ok So I rode the tt bike up to Clements- ride time is round trip/

Trashed
My back is trashed.
3 days @ work of moving heavy ass shit without pallet jacks or forklifts... just a troylift.
I took 2 rest days in hopes my back will get better...

I had it; So I went out for speedwork. Good idea? bad idea?

liverwurst
The house smells like Liverwurst!
Left from bear canyon trailhead about 6pm and headed up the road to the end of sabino canyon road.
I wanted to get in a solid 2 hour run and I did.
I got a little bugged out on the way back down bear canyon road;I came across a big buck and a couple does laying in the grass. I couldn't tell they were deer. @ first all I could see was their eyes light up.

So after work, I went to run the long loop.

I've had a few nagging injuries, these were all prior to my race.
My neck/shoulder has some kind of strain or tear and my left achiles is very tight.
As much as I would have liked to swim today because my swim was so weak on thursday I opted not to and chose to do a recovery run instead.
Lakeside loop-start off walking run for 10 walk for 1 run for 10 walk for 1 run.
Even with all the walking I still did this in 24'42"14
Off to work.

The swim was aweful the water was choppy and crowded and I felt like I was drowning it sucked bad.
The transition was a little slow in part because I could'nt get my shoes on.
The run felt good, I felt like I was hammering.
